Dear Families,

We wrapped up Bullying Prevention and Awareness Week with incredible energy, gratitude, and school spirit, and a commitment to ongoing learning. Students and staff participated in discussions, classroom activities, and community-building events that highlighted kindness, empathy, and the importance of being an upstander. Thank you for your support at home-together, we continue to foster a safe, inclusive, and caring school community.

Thanks to our partnership and volunteering with Charitable Gaming BINGO Corporation, we were able to purchase NEW VOLLEYBALLS for our Girls and Boys Volleyball teams as they head into their year-end tournaments. Good luck, Comets!!! We were also able to purchase new rainbow balls, wall balls, and soccer balls for every classroom to enjoy for outside recess play. We know that students will thoroughly enjoy this new equipment!

This week, students in Grades 4-6 will be participating in the Student Census. The census helps us better understand student experiences and needs so we can continue to improve our programs, supports, and school environment. Your child’s voice matters, and we appreciate your partnership as we collect this important information.

With the recent weather changes, we’re excited to share that both playground climbers will be open whenever conditions are dry during recesses. All climbers are closed between 8:50-9:05 am. Safety is always our top priority, so on days when equipment is wet or slippery, the climbers will remain closed. We thank students for their patience and cooperation as we navigate changing fall conditions.

As the weather continues to shift this fall, we encourage all students to dress appropriately for the changing temperatures. Layers, waterproof jackets, proper footwear, hats/touques, mittens/gloves, and snowpants help keep students comfortable and ready for outdoor play and learning. We often go outside for recess and learning, even with a mild drizzle - we love the fresh air and the opportunity to move around outside.

Reminder About Parking Areas
As the weather changes, more families may choose to drive to and from school. Please remember that stopping in school bus loading zones or no-stopping areas can result in high parking fines. Bylaw encourages families to respect posted signage and use alternative locations for pick-up and drop-off.

Student Census 2025

Students in Grades 4-12 will participate in the Student Census this week, unless they have opted out.

About the Student Census

The Student Census is a voluntary survey for students in Grades 4 to 12. This important initiative aims to learn more about students' identities, academic achievement, and their experiences at school. By understanding more about the unique backgrounds, experiences, and needs of students, we can create a more inclusive and supportive educational environment for everyone.

The data is paired with academic information to help us understand what school is like for different groups of students.

It is important to note that:

  • The survey is optional.
  • Responses are confidential.
  • Students can choose to answer as much or as little of the survey as they wish.

See Yourself in Limestone – Student Census Survey

Limestone is committed to creating safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments for all students. To help us better understand how students’ identities and experiences relate to their achievement and well-being, we are launching our second See Yourself in Limestone Student Census Survey this fall. The census is a voluntary and confidential survey for students in Grades 4 to 12, running from November 24 to 28, 2025. It gathers information about students’ identities and their experiences at school. This data is then paired with academic information to help us understand what school is like for different groups of students.

Families who do not want their student(s) to complete the survey must contact Principal Lani Fox (foxla@limestone.on.ca) by Friday, November 21, 2025. Opting out means the student will not receive the survey in their e-mail inbox.

LUNCH IS READY - FAMILY SURVEY!

We’re now over halfway through our Free Lunch Program Lunch is Ready!, and the Food Share Project would love to hear your feedback on how things are going at Centennial. Our school community's input is incredibly valuable to improve the program for the rest of the year and develop future models to expand to other schools.

To help us gather well-rounded feedback, we’ve created three short surveys, one each for parents, school staff, and students:
