Dear Families,
Thanks to the generosity of our Centennial families collected over 300 food items! These items will be used to make Food boxes for some Centennial families to help them through the holidays, and the rest will be donated to our local Food Bank! Donations are still welcome this week, please send them in with your student or drop in the front foyer.
Spreading Joy @ Centennial:
Kindness has been highlighted at Centennial through our Holiday Cheer initiative! Notes of appreciation and kindness have been flowing into our Holiday Cheer Mailbox and delivered daily. These notes have placed a focus on the goodness we can offer to the world by slowing down to notice and appreciate others. Simple encouraging messages can have a significant impact. This project has been a wonderful way to head into the Winter break and grow positivity within our school community.
Mr. Cahill's Grade 6 class also visited Kingsdale Retirement home to share some songs and spend time with residents. Each student received a hand-knitted pair of slippers and enjoyed hot chocolate. Spreading Centennial kindness out into our community!!
Lunch is Ready:
Sign-up is open for families to register for the next session. Deadline for registration is on Friday, December 19th! To sign up, please visit: www.foodsharingproject.store
Jingle Bell Walk:
The sun joined us on Friday for our Jingle Bell walk. It was delightful to see the smiles and share the event with some of our families. Upon their return, students enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies in their classrooms, organized by staff and candy canes provided by our Centennial School Council! A great way to end off the week : )
THANK YOU FROM THE CENTENNIAL STAFF!
The staff at Centennial are so grateful for your support and partnership as we work to maximize student success in both academic and life-learning. Working together really is the best way to provide students with a supportive network of caring adults.
Wishing our families a wonderful Winter Break ahead! May it bring you rest, family, outdoor adventures, cosy days inside, yummy food and a good dose of fun. The real gift is the gift of time; time to notice, time to spend in different ways, and time to appreciate the special people in your lives. Enjoy, and see you in January!
Centennial PS Culture Mosaic Night - Family Feedback Survey
The Centennial PS school council is planning a special evening in February - a community celebration that honours the diverse identities, traditions, and voices of our families, and the richness and complexity of our school community.
This event is about connection, learning, and shared experiences where every voice and culture is valued as part of our vibrant mosaic. Together, we’ll enjoy music, food, creative activities, and cultural sharing that reflect and respect the richness of our lived experiences.
We’d love your input and participation!
Please take 2 minutes to complete the following feedback survey to help make this event fun and meaningful for the Centennial PS community.

Lunch Is Ready Winter Session Info:
School Council Request: Containers needed for winter sowing of native plants in preparation for the May eco-fair:
Large plastic containers are needed for a School Council project, examples are 2L pop bottles, vinegar bottles, or clear plastic boxes with lids (not the type that holds fruit or salad greens). No bottles that held toxic chemicals such as cleaning fluids. Containers that have been cleaned thoroughly can be brought to the office.

Reminder About Parking Areas
As the weather changes, more families may choose to drive to and from school. Please remember that stopping in school bus loading zones or no-stopping areas can result in high parking fines. Bylaw encourages families to respect posted signage and use alternative locations for pick-up and drop-off.
Choices at 7
We're approaching the time of the year for Choices at 7 for our current Grade 6 students. See here for more info.

See Yourself in Limestone – Student Census Survey
Limestone is committed to creating safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments for all students. To help us better understand how students’ identities and experiences relate to their achievement and well-being, we are launching our second See Yourself in Limestone Student Census Survey this fall. The census is a voluntary and confidential survey for students in Grades 4 to 12, running from November 24 to 28, 2025. It gathers information about students’ identities and their experiences at school. This data is then paired with academic information to help us understand what school is like for different groups of students.
Families who do not want their student(s) to complete the survey must contact Principal Lani Fox (foxla@limestone.on.ca) by Friday, November 21, 2025. Opting out means the student will not receive the survey in their e-mail inbox.

LUNCH IS READY - FAMILY SURVEY!
We’re now over halfway through our Free Lunch Program Lunch is Ready!, and the Food Share Project would love to hear your feedback on how things are going at Centennial. Our school community's input is incredibly valuable to improve the program for the rest of the year and develop future models to expand to other schools.
To help us gather well-rounded feedback, we’ve created three short surveys, one each for parents, school staff, and students:
- FAMILY Survey: To encourage participation, we’re including a giveaway draw for parents/guardians who complete the survey: https://forms.office.com/r/21VcZxFnJr
