Dear Families,
December is here, it is hard to believe that we are approaching Winter Break! With the arrival of snow and colder weather please ensure students have brought appropriate clothing and items are labelled so that mitts/hats and coats left on the yard can be returned. A reminder that our lost and found is available for students to retrieve items and families can also visit before or after school. The climbers will be closed for the winter for student safety and in accordance with Board Policy.
Staff continue to focus on bringing rich learning activities into classrooms, with a defined focus on monitoring literacy and math growth and identifying any learning gaps within student and class profiles. Many staff are leveraging time with our LDSB learning coaches to review student data and create intervention plans using short-learning cycles. This short-cycle approach provides greater opportunity to accelerate student growth in these foundational years.
Good luck to our Boys and Girls volleyball teams at the season-end tournament tomorrow! Thanks to our partnership and volunteering with Charitable Gaming BINGO Corporation, teams will be able to bring NEW VOLLEYBALLS for warm-ups. Good luck, Comets!!!
Students in Ms. McPhail's class worked hard on their dioramas showcasing different animal habitats as part of their learning. Classes enjoyed their visits to view the projects, ask questions and see the creativity!
LUNCH IS READY:
School Council Request: Containers needed for winter sowing of native plants in preparation for the May eco-fair:
Large plastic containers are needed for a School Council project, examples are 2L pop bottles, vinegar bottles, or clear plastic boxes with lids (not the type that holds fruit or salad greens). No bottles that held toxic chemicals such as cleaning fluids. Containers that have been cleaned thoroughly can be brought to the office.

Lost Family Hierloom:
Lost on the schoolyard, if found please turn into the office
Reminder About Parking Areas
As the weather changes, more families may choose to drive to and from school. Please remember that stopping in school bus loading zones or no-stopping areas can result in high parking fines. Bylaw encourages families to respect posted signage and use alternative locations for pick-up and drop-off.
Choices at 7
We're approaching the time of the year for Choices at 7 for our current Grade 6 students. See here for more info.

See Yourself in Limestone – Student Census Survey
Limestone is committed to creating safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments for all students. To help us better understand how students’ identities and experiences relate to their achievement and well-being, we are launching our second See Yourself in Limestone Student Census Survey this fall. The census is a voluntary and confidential survey for students in Grades 4 to 12, running from November 24 to 28, 2025. It gathers information about students’ identities and their experiences at school. This data is then paired with academic information to help us understand what school is like for different groups of students.
Families who do not want their student(s) to complete the survey must contact Principal Lani Fox (foxla@limestone.on.ca) by Friday, November 21, 2025. Opting out means the student will not receive the survey in their e-mail inbox.

LUNCH IS READY - FAMILY SURVEY!
We’re now over halfway through our Free Lunch Program Lunch is Ready!, and the Food Share Project would love to hear your feedback on how things are going at Centennial. Our school community's input is incredibly valuable to improve the program for the rest of the year and develop future models to expand to other schools.
To help us gather well-rounded feedback, we’ve created three short surveys, one each for parents, school staff, and students:
- FAMILY Survey: To encourage participation, we’re including a giveaway draw for parents/guardians who complete the survey: https://forms.office.com/r/21VcZxFnJr
CENTENNIAL SCHOOL EXPECTATIONS - Slides for Family reference to review with your students.
