Dear Families,

Our Junior volleyball teams competed last week in the season-end tournaments. Both teams have showed tremendous improvement in their skills and came together to support each other, demonstrating leadership and sportsmanship. Way to go Comets!!

Spreading Joy @ Centennial:

Kindness really is the way to make someone's day! Students are dropping off notes of appreciation and kindness in our Holiday Cheer Mailbox over the next two weeks. Classes have received a simple note-writing template that students can use to create kind, encouraging messages or drawings for peers and staff this season. The goal is to spread kindness and joy throughout our school community!

Lunch is Ready:

Sign-up is open for families to register for the next session. Deadline for registration is on Friday, December 19th! To sign up, please visit: www.foodsharingproject.store

Jingle Bell Walk:

Families are welcome to join us on our community walk this Friday, Dec 12th @ 2:00. FOOD BANK DONATIONS can be sent in with students all week and also on the day of the walk. Let's fill up our donation bin!

Volunteers @ Centennial:

Throughout the year, there are opportunities for the important adults in students' lives to volunteer on field trips and various classroom or school events. See the guidelines below. If cost is a barrier in securing the document, please connect with the school.

  • Volunteers – must provide a current vulnerable sector check CPIC when they first begin volunteering at a school. Current is considered to be within 6 months of the start date of the volunteering.
  • After this, a new Vulnerable Sector Check CPIC is required every 3 years.
  • In between the delivery of the new VSC CPIC, volunteers can complete an Offence Declaration
  • For Example:
    • year 1 – current VSC CPIC
    • year 2 & 3 – fillable Offence Declaration
    • year 4 – current VSC CPIC

Lost & Found: Lost items can be claimed by students or can be accessed by families before and after school

School Council Request: Containers needed for winter sowing of native plants in preparation for the May eco-fair:

Large plastic containers are needed for a School Council project, examples are 2L pop bottles, vinegar bottles, or clear plastic boxes with lids (not the type that holds fruit or salad greens). No bottles that held toxic chemicals such as cleaning fluids. Containers that have been cleaned thoroughly can be brought to the office.

Reminder About Parking Areas
As the weather changes, more families may choose to drive to and from school. Please remember that stopping in school bus loading zones or no-stopping areas can result in high parking fines. Bylaw encourages families to respect posted signage and use alternative locations for pick-up and drop-off.

See Yourself in Limestone – Student Census Survey

Limestone is committed to creating safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments for all students. To help us better understand how students’ identities and experiences relate to their achievement and well-being, we are launching our second See Yourself in Limestone Student Census Survey this fall. The census is a voluntary and confidential survey for students in Grades 4 to 12, running from November 24 to 28, 2025. It gathers information about students’ identities and their experiences at school. This data is then paired with academic information to help us understand what school is like for different groups of students.

Families who do not want their student(s) to complete the survey must contact Principal Lani Fox (foxla@limestone.on.ca) by Friday, November 21, 2025. Opting out means the student will not receive the survey in their e-mail inbox.

LUNCH IS READY - FAMILY SURVEY!

We’re now over halfway through our Free Lunch Program Lunch is Ready!, and the Food Share Project would love to hear your feedback on how things are going at Centennial. Our school community's input is incredibly valuable to improve the program for the rest of the year and develop future models to expand to other schools.

To help us gather well-rounded feedback, we’ve created three short surveys, one each for parents, school staff, and students:
