 Dear Families,

We hope that you have had a good summer and have taken some time for rest and relaxation. It is a pleasure to be the principal at Centennial Public School and I am very pleased to be joining the Centennial school community.

The Ministry of Education recently announced that school boards were permitted to adopt a staggered start to the 2020-2021 school year to allow additional time for students to adjust to new routines, and health and safety practices.

In Limestone, the first day of school is Thursday, Sept. 3, 2020 but only half of the students will attend on this day. Elementary schools will organize staggered entry based on an alternate schedule of A/B days until and including September 11.

At Centennial, our staggered entry plan is as follows:

Students will attend school from 9:05 am – 3:25 pm on three days between September 3 and September 11 based on your last name.  This will allow for groups of 10-15 students per class to attend per day.

Last Names Beginning with A to K (A Days)

Thursday, September 3
Tuesday, September 8
Thursday, September 10

Last Names Beginning with L to Z (B Days)

Friday, September 4
Wednesday, September 9
Friday, September 11

All students begin full-time on Monday, September 14.

We will be sending updates over the next two weeks with details about class lists, new school routines, what to bring to school on the first day, and drop off and pick up locations.

I look forward to meeting our Centennial students and families in September.

Karen Handley, Principal
Centennial Public School
