Our entire team at Centennial Public School is very excited to start another great year!
For those of you returning to Centennial this year, welcome back and a sincere warm welcome to our new families. If you are new to the community, this will be your opportunity to learn all about the many wonderful opportunities that exist for the students and their families at Centennial Public School. I encourage you to become involved. Involved parents contribute greatly to the educational growth of their children. Open communication is the key to developing a strong positive relationship between home and school. Please do not hesitate to contact the staff to share information regarding you children and how we can best meet their academic and social needs.
We will communicate regularly using the student agenda. This agenda provides a means of communication between home and school. Our students will be encouraged to develop their organizational skills through the use of the agenda. School events, homework and special assignments will be recorded by the students. It is an opportunity for parents to record questions or concerns that you might have for the teacher. Teachers find the agenda a useful communication tool as a way to share information about your children. Please encourage your children to bring their agenda home each night so that you can stay informed about what is happening in your children’s classes and the school.
Checking the website regularly is also an excellent way to stay informed. I would also recommend that you follow our school on Twitter for the latest information (@Centennial_LDSB).
We will also begin to use a communication tool this year called Remind. This will allow you to receive reminders on your phone (through texts) or by email. There will be information sent home to you regarding how to sign up.
Please feel free to contact me at the school with any questions you may have at 613-546-5517. I am excited to get to know the students, families and community members at Centennial Public School. Please introduce yourself to me on the yard, and when you visit the school!
